On the Front Cover: The cover shows four close relatives of Arabidopsis. Clockwise from upper left, they are: Diplotaxis catholica (yellow flowers), Arabis gunnisoniana (light purple, mauve flowers), Coronopus squamatus (green prickly fruits), and Strepthanthus insignis (dark purple with white flowers). Comparisons of genomes between closely related species can be used to identify conserved promoter regions, aid in genome annotation, and may help to identify genes involved in the evolution of adaptive traits.
