Plant Physiology 79:1127-1128 (1985) © 1985 American Society of Plant Biologists The Equilibrium of the Reaction Catalyzed by Sucrose Phosphate SynthaseDepartment of Biochemistry, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio 43210 The equilibrium constant for the reaction catalyzed by sucrose phosphate synthase was reported 25 years ago to be 3250 at pH 7.5. It has been redetermined and found to be about 2 in the direction of synthesis and 6 to 10 when measured in the opposite direction.
